Veronica Garcia (she/her/hers) is a trainer and behavior consultant with Pet Harmony. Bringing expertise in both veterinary medicine and behavior, she loves working with clients to help their dog be their best dog self.
Veronica grew up in the northern Chicago suburbs and received a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration from the University of Illinois. She found veterinary medicine in 2008 after moving to northern California. It was love from the start. Providing nursing care for sick animals was everything she never knew she wanted. She went back to school and obtained her license as a Veterinary Technician. She also rescued her first dog, Toby, a maltipoo with diabetes and a plethora of behavioral issues. Toby was the catalyst that started her journey into veterinary behavior and training as a pet owner.
After spending much of her veterinary career in emergency and critical care, she transitioned to veterinary behavior in 2021.
Veronica is dedicated to enhancing the human-animal bond through enrichment and positive reinforcement training. She also understands firsthand the fatigue human caregivers can sometimes experience when living with their behaviorally challenged dogs. She believes in meeting each dog’s needs in a way that’s realistic and manageable for the pet parent. She looks forward to empowering clients to help their dog be their best dog self.
In her spare time Veronica enjoys functional fitness, reading, and spending time with her family.
Veronica joined Pet Harmony in 2025. Veronica is a Certified Veterinary Technician, Karen Pryor Academy – Certified Training Partner, and a Fear Free Certified Professional – Veterinary.
