Valerie is a Veterinary Social Worker, animal care professional, educator, speaker, and consultant with more than 25 years of experience across veterinary medicine, zoos, aquariums, shelters, and animal behavior.
Throughout her career, she recognized the need for greater emotional support for the people who care for animals, both professionally and at home. This inspired her to earn her Master of Science in Social Work and Veterinary Social Work Certificate from the University of Tennessee and change her focus to the human side of the human-animal bond.
Through Valerie Bogie LLC, Valerie supports animal professionals and organizations through education, consulting, and coaching. She also provides individual and group support for pet parents worldwide through Insight Animal Behavior Services. At PETPro, she leads office hours and facilitates Emotional CPR and self-care sessions.
In her free time, Valerie loves traveling with her husband and, whenever possible, their four dogs. She hopes to visit all 50 U.S. State Capitol buildings and all 63 U.S. National Parks.
Valerie leads a number of office hours for PETPro, and facilitates Emotional-CPR (eCPR) and self-caresessions.
