Be honest, does any of this sound familiar? ↓
You spend HOURS each week writing client notes and training plans
You suspect your clients aren’t even following those plans
You fear the expert advice you’re giving is inconsistent—you give strong advice for some cases, weaker advice for others
You don’t know if your hard work is making a difference but you can’t think of another way forward and feel stuck
Building out and referring to a custom resource library can fix ALL of the above so you can spend more time with your dog.
“I have a small business at the moment. Looking at my files I must say they look similar to a patchwork quilt. They’re all over the place and need to put in the correct folder. This project helped me to do a deep dive and reorganize.”

As a behavior consultant or dog trainer, we know you would much rather be working hands-on with your clients’ pets than stuck behind your desk, chipping away at admin work.
So if you spend a significant portion of your work week churning out training plans—that might even vary in quality and value—we bet you’re fed up with the task at some level.
You may feel exhausted or at the brink of burnout, but you have no idea what you can possibly change… after all, creating training plans is a crucial part of your job.
Too bad that the way many trainers go about it is a complete waste of time.
“This [lesson] was inspiring for me … I have always labelled myself as “not business savvy.” However, I am now convinced I should develop a resource library, and consider branding myself if for no other reason than to more clearly define where I am headed. It will be on a small scale, but this [lesson] makes me think, “I can do this”! Thanks!”

a tool i used shortly after starting my behavior consulting business many moons ago!
Before I had a proper resource library, writing one training plan would take me one. Whole. Hour. And to add insult to injury, I don’t think my clients would even use them.
The time I poured into writing these plans took a toll on me and I realized it was impacting the quality of the service I was able to deliver. (Exhausted brains can’t function at 100%.)
I eventually decided it was worth doing the work up front to create my library of resources, which I STILL use to this day.
Nowadays, it takes me around 15 minutes to write a training plan, largely because of my resource library.
And the time I’ve saved since implementing this tool has been life-changing.
“Oh my goodness, I love resources, I have them everywhere, in 3 different google drive folders that I share with myself, in word documents, in onenote, on random pieces of paper…they are everywhere! There’s even several different versions of the same resource that I’ve edited or “tweaked”…Oh and some are “branded” sorta…with all different versions of fonts and “logos”. Yikes! What an organizational (and anxiety producing) nightmare. So, I spent some focus time yesterday on my resource library!! “
