People love the idea of our Intensive Behavior Packages (IBPs): 20 sessions working alongside your consultant taking all the guesswork out. We are consistently amazed with how quickly our IBP clients progress. However, the price is not for everyone. With that in mind we started our Immersive Digital Courses.

Immersive Digital Courses are like Intensive Behavior Packages, except with multiple people learning together on a specific topic instead of working in a private session. Full courses have us working together remotely 2 days a week for 10 weeks (pending travel and teaching schedules) and Mini courses are approximately 2 days a week for 5 weeks. Each session provides clients with a more personalized, hands-on approach to your pet’s behavior needs. We also have a Facebook group so we can help, share with, and learn from each other outside of class, too! Upcoming Immersive Digital courses include (all are full courses unless otherwise specified):

  • Separation Anxiety: starts Tuesday, April 13, 2021 through Friday, June 18, 2021 – meets Tuesdays and Fridays at 6pm Mountain
  • Resource Guarding: starts Sunday, April 11, 2021 through Wednesday, June 23, 2021 (no classes 5/9, 6/20) – Wednesdays and Sundays at 6pm Mountain
  • Using Enrichment to Treat Maladaptive Behaviors: starts Sunday, July 11, 2021 through Wednesday, September 22, 2021 (no classes 9/5, 9/15) – Wednesdays and Sundays at 6pm Mountain
  • Human Directed Reactivity and Aggression: starts Sunday, October 3, 2021 through Sunday, December 19, 2021 (no classes 10/31, 11/24, 11/28) – Wednesdays and Sundays at 6pm Mountain

What to expect: Client vs. Auditor Spots

  • Client: If you have a pet with a behavior problem you would like to address, the client option is perfect for you. You will get:
    • Step-by-step, how-to guidance for working through undesired behaviors
    • Lots and lots of practice implementing what you’re learning
    • A community of like-minded animal lovers celebrating your pet’s successes with you
    • Troubleshooting your plan when things get sticky
    • Additional resources relevant to your case
    • Recordings of all sessions to go through on your own time
    • The most comprehensive collection of information on that particular topic that we’ve done yet!

    • Q&A participation in live sessions

Auditor spots are a great option for:

      • Veterinarians, vet techs, and vet tech assistants/ kennel staff
      • Groomers
      • Dog daycare owners and staff
      • Pet lovers who want to learn more about behavior

What to expect: The format

These courses are entirely web-based. All sessions are conducted through Zoom so anyone from anywhere can attend, and every session is recorded so that you can review them later if you wish to, or if you miss a session (or can never attend a live session) you’ll still be able to participate later outside of class. Full courses will meet for 20 sessions and mini courses will meet for 10 sessions regardless, and the dates of each session will be provided in advance.

Can remote really work?

People often wonder whether we can be effective if we only meet online – how can we help you if we don’t even meet your pet in person? – but the answer is yes! Remote consulting is growing in popularity world-wide, and we have clients all over the country and even in other countries. We have been just as successful collaborating via video chat as the clients with whom we’ve collaborated in person.

What to expect: The technology

We use Zoom for our Immersive Digital Courses. Zoom is free and easy to download; it usually takes about 5 minutes. The only technological requirement is that you download Zoom onto a laptop, tablet, or phone instead of a desktop so you can move the camera around as needed during our sessions.

What to expect: Booking an Immersive Digital Course

If you’re ready to book email Emily at [email protected] to register. She will provide additional instructions and paperwork for your session.

What to expect: Help in between sessions

You will have access to your training plan for years to come and can refer back to your plan and resources contained within whenever you need help. Additionally, your consultant will be available to answer simple clarification and troubleshooting questions via email or in the Immersive Digital Course Facebook group between sessions so you never feel like you’re alone in this process.  You’re always welcome to schedule private consults after the course has ended for ongoing help and support.

What Others are Saying: Testimonials

We just finished an online Immersive Digital Course on Aggression and Reactivity and loved it so much, we have begun another one on Resource Guarding. We learned not only how to train our dog, but the reasons behind the training. Our dog is much more calm and affectionate…probably because we are listening to his body language and meeting his enrichment needs. All learned about in this course. Definitely worth the money…and in our own home…and it’s FUN! We highly recommend doing an online course. Thanks so much!” – Lori J.

“The online courses are the best of the best: chock full of applicable information presented in a professional, engaging, and informative manner. I gained a better understanding of my dog and his true needs, and now we’re both a LOT happier. In fact, it was such a great experience that I’ve already registered for another class. It is the best value around—highly recommend.” – Penny B.

“I took Emily’s Group Intensive online course for Reactive dogs. I learned just what I needed to help my little guys. The help I got was just as good as having private consults, but way better in my opinion. I got 20 hours of help and learning for a fraction of the cost.” – Mary C.

“Your training style: 1) avoids criticizing the handler/owner, 2) offers people information based on research-based evidence, and 3) helps break down the reason for certain behaviors to get at the root of it. That helps people to extract their emotional reactions while training… I found that the way you give very specific, objective information in simple, easy to digest terms and examples was very valuable, especially for people who may have zero dog behavior experience… I found this so accessible and easy to apply!”

“We are seeing a wonderful new side to our dog as we get to really know him… We got a plethora of practical information and resources to teach us… The most impactful was when the class viewed videos of our dogs and Emily interpreted their behavior and gave us individual advice.”

“I’m constantly recommending [this course] to people! I felt like I learned something new in most sessions and we didn’t take too much time on any one particular thing… [My dog] no longer tries to lunge at strangers. She is more comfortable meeting new people. Her kennel reactivity has significantly gone down.”

“[I] gained research knowledge that helps me to make forward progress instead of the 2 steps forward, 1 step back I had been experiencing… [My dog’s] reactivity to other on-leash dogs is under better control and in many cases is completely absent. [He] appears more relaxed overall (perhaps [he’s] grateful to be understood), more engaged with and better attuned to me.”
