You were swimming in clients during the pandemic- practically having to turn people away. And now? Crickets.

Aaaand here comes the doom spiral. “Do people hate me?” “Am I bad at my job and that’s why no one is booking with me?” “It’s finally happened. They’ve figured out I’m an imposter.”

Slow your roll. No one hates you. You’re not bad at your job. The world is just getting back to normal and that means our industry is getting back to its normal ebbs and flows. And with that comes the Feast or Famine cycle of clients.

But knowing that it’s normal doesn’t help the overwhelming fear and anxiety that comes from a month when your business isn’t making enough money to pay your bills or yourself. Add into that industry trends, the economy, and society trends (like how no one in the US is booking at the beginning of April because taxes are due soon) and it’s easy to feel overwhelmed and hopeless when it comes to predicting how much money will come in.

Instead of throwing up your hands and succumbing to the darkness, you have another option.

You can’t control everything, but you can control your finances

Here’s the thing. You can’t control all of those things. But you can control your actions and responses and that is how you can control your finances.

It’s like how you can’t fully control a dog’s triggers but you can control how you respond and that, in turn, changes their behavior. You already know how to do this with pets, now you just need to know how to do it with your finances.

And just like your clients need you to teach them how to change their dog’s behavior, you need someone to teach you how to change your behavior to improve your finances.

Someone who completely understands this weird industry. Someone who has been exactly where you are and knows how to get out of it. Someone who knows that you didn’t get into your business because you love talking about money and that you have now begrudgingly accepted that you actually do need your business to make money.

You need our Conquer Feast or Famine webinar.

Hey, I'm Allie Bender

And I’m a recovering doom spiraler.

For the first few years of my business I was convinced that if I had a lull in clients booking with me that meant that suddenly everyone hated me. I had done something to make someone mad and word got out and I would never have clients again. Yeah, it’s an overreaction but that’s anxiety for you.

It took me a few years to realize that not only was that an overreaction (okay, a few years and therapy), but that feast or famine was actually a predictable cycle that I could take advantage of. That I could use that ebb and flow to my advantage! And I haven’t looked back since.

Now that I can predict our slow months I can do something about it. And, I know what you’re thinking. But, no, writing a book and hosting a podcast doesn’t make our business immune to the natural ebb and flow of a service-based business. We just aren’t worried about it like we used to be.

You deserve the business of your dreams

Conquering the Feast or Famine Cycle will help you to…

  • Enjoy your time off without guilt or fear
  • Feel confident and in control of your finances
  • Know when you need to pour into your marketing strategy and when you don’t

Nope! Make sure to put the event time in your calendar! You don’t want to miss this one.

The recommendations we’ll make require you to have some level of autonomy over decision-making around finances for things like pricing, marketing strategy, budgeting, etc. While some folks have that level of decision-making in a business they don’t own, we expect most participants to be business owners.

Let’s address that self-limiting belief right now: You don’t need to be amazing at math to be in control of your finances.

If you are great with numbers, great! But if you aren’t, that won’t be a problem at all. Working on your business finances won’t look like or feel like trudging high school math classes. There are a whole lot of tools and methods out there that can help anyone stay on top of—or even get ahead in—their business.
